Bluewater Water Hardener is a calcium chloride product and is used to increase water hardness in swimming pools. It is used with both Baquacil and Bluewater sanitisers.

Water hardness is a measure of the amount of calcium and magnesium dissolved in pool water. Too little calcium can result in etching of plaster and corrosion of metal fixtures. Too much causes cloudy water, staining and scale formation.
